Question:

Moving to the UK - visa help?

I can't seem to find the right form for a marriage visa.

My husband is currently in the UK on a working holiday makers visa and we want to change it to a marriage visa but I can't find it.

I found a website that says that if you have been together for more than 4 years outside the UK then you can get ILR (indefinite leave to remain) straight away, but I can't find that form either.

Does anyone know the form I need? Or what website I can print it off from?

So i'm looking for the right ILR form (not the Set(m) one) OR a marriage visa?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

  1. The information to get ILR after being married for four years living out of UK, may be wrong. I am printing the website below & it contains pretty much all information about different kinds of visas & related forms.

    Good luck.

  2. try here:

    www.workpermit.com/uk/marriage

  3. try this page of the UK immigration,

    http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/ukresi...

  4. You can't change existing visas to a marriage visa. Your husband will have to apply from his country of residence for a spouse visa. You are correct in thinking that if you can prove you have lived together for a certain number of years then ILR is granted - not sure if just being in the relationship is enough - you may need to show utility bills etc as proof of co-residency. might be worth knowing also that laws have changed recently requiring applicants to sign a contrsct saying they will learn English as well as having to take the 'Life in the UK' test. Its a complicated process I'm afraid and nowhere near as simple as changing visa status. Hope the link below helps.
