Question:

Moving up in my riding without a horse?

Hey there, so I know I've asked this before, but I was wondering, what is a good way to move up in my riding without a horse? I am at the highest level currently, but I'm only jumping 2'-2'6 at most. It's normally 2'-2'3ft though. I want to start to jump higher and such, but I don't know what to do, the barn I am currently at is the only H/J barn I know of. :/ Does anybody have any ideas of what I could do? I'm thinking of seeing if I can't find another H/J barn. I would buy my own horse, but it just isn't in the cards money wise. :[

Thanks!

  1. I would try to talk to her again. if not then you're only choice IS to move.

  2. lease a horse! Ask the people around the barn (better yet, the owners) if any horses are up for lease. I would pick the most advanced horse if you want to get better. Leasing is cheaper than buying and you get to ride more often. Good Luck!! I hope i helped you at least a bit!

  3. Move up without a horse?

Don't you improve to different levels as a pair?

  4. I agree with Nicole, leasing a horse is an option. Also, have you spoken to your trainer? I used to be a horse groom for a H/J barn and the trainer there frequently brought in horses to help her students. Perhaps you can work out some kind of deal. Good for you in moving up with your riding!!! Good luck!
