Moving up on motocross bike?

Question

im 13 and i ride a kx 85 but im quiet tall 5,8 and quiet big not your average 13 year old, and im too big for my kx 85 small wheel should i get a big wheel 85 or a 125 or even a big wheel crf 150 i dont know what to do i was thinking of geting a rm125 or a ktm 125 but i dont know if i would be to small and im not that experienced as ive only been riding 2 years not all the time though just occaisonaly THANKS please help

Why not try out a 250 4 stroke perhaps a crf250r as you have been riding two years so should have good control on a bike and the 250cc is really not much bigger (if any) than the rm125cc, perhaps just a bit heavier.  The 250 would be easier to ride and also will last you for some time.  The trouble with the 125cc class is that eventually there won't be one as you cannot buy a Honda 125cc anymore as they have stopped production.  If you think you are too big for the 85cc then don't go for a crf150r as they are much the same in size.    

My son races a crf250r and is shorter than you at 5ft6

im also to big for it but i am to short for a rm125

so i'll be getting a ktm 105

Go ahead, move up to a 125. You're OK as long as you take your riding skills seriously and gradually. Big diff between 85 and 125.

I suggest a 125. Myson is racing a big wheel 85 and a 125. If you are in experienced a 125 is better.not because of power or weight but because there are very important skills to learn that cannot be learned on a 4 stroke.examples are, energy managment.braking late in corners,how to carry speed and momentum in corners,and learning to be aggressive. Plus a 125 pinger is soo much fun ti rip on.There is no sound like fast rider on a 2 stroke.

If you can ride an 85 you will be fine on a 125, of course a 250F would be a better choice, but that's a topic for another discussion. You are plenty tall for a 125 also, 5'8" will be cramped on an 85 expert.

move up mate. im only 5,8 but i could never ride an 80cc you will find it easier on a 125 cause you wont be so cramped and the power is much smoother you will also find it easier to jump

i own an RM125 and its a great bike. move up to a newer 125 and youll have a blast! its will probly fit you perfect too!

i think you should go to a crf250 thats what i ride and they are a great bike
