Question:

Moving with a Sugar Glider?

We will be moving soon and I have a sugar gilder that we are taking with us. She is about 7 years old and her cage is too big to transport her in and keep her in the car with us. What would you suggest we bring her in? We don't want it to be too small as we don't want to stress her out.

  1. The dog crate is a good idea - I have a pop up dog crate that I got new for about $25 - it's my "hospital" and "transport" cage. Either type of crate can be strapped into a car in case of an accident and either one should allow enough room for some toys and food - no matter what there will be a fair amount of stress for her but having familiar pouches and toys should help :)

Personally, I like the pop up crate because it folds down and fits in the cupboard. Hope that helps!

  2. LA California? Why do you have a pet that's illegal in the state?

But when I transport my sugar gliders anywhere, I use a small bird cage that I can sit in the seat next to me. I put a pouch, another type of hideaway, some toys, a hammock, a shelf, and a little blankie all in there. It's a 14x14x24 inch cage, and although it's a tad bit cluttered with all of that stuff, it keeps them entertained.

  3. if your going by car the whole way mabye you could purchase a used crate for a dog but make sure theres no holes big enough for it to escape
