I'm moving in the next few weeks and I'm really worried how my 2 cats are going to react to it. Is there anyway i can help them be calm when we move? and how long will it take for them to warm up to the new place?

  1. It depends on the cat.  Make sure you give them familiar things like their litter box(es), kitty beds, their toys, etc.  Also, if you are moving familiar furniture that already has their scent, that will probably make them more comfortable.

I just moved about 3 weeks ago.  My cat was really freaked out because of all the noise, but he adjusted quickly.  Once everything was moved in the new place, he slowly walked around checking things out and rubbing on things.  Later that day, he was fine with the arrangement and within another day or so he was back to running around like he owned the place.

  2. I moved my 2 cats, it took them about a week or 2 to get used to it. They'll be nervous at first probably more if they're nervous atm.

  3. I moved so many times during the lifespan of my last set of cats that when they saw the boxes coming out they just jumped right in!  But honestly, I think as long as you are taking the furniture that they have grown comfortable with they will adapt fine.  Make sure the first few days they are left in a confined area with their litter box and food so they can be sure and find it...and double checkk to insure that they aren't allowed to slip outside...and you might expect them to show their displeasure in very obvious and messy ways!  But they should adapt well as long as everything else stays the same (your relationship with them).
