Movsisyan respect Glushakov’s desire to play for Spartak after leaving Lokomotiv – Football News

a switch from Lokomotiv Moscow.
“Glushakov’s transfer was not a surprise to me, because every player dreams of playing at Spartak. Denis is a fantastic midfielder and I think he can help us become Russian champions once again,” the former Real Salt Lake attacker
was quoted as saying.
Spartak is still the most successful club in the history of Russian Championship following their massive 21 league titles. However, the Russian outfit has fallen at hard times recently as they are yet to win a league title since
2001.
Glushakov, who joined the Moscow-based club after having an average campaign with Lokomotiv, reportedly signed a three-year contract. If speculations are to be believed, Spartak paid in the access of 10 million Euros for the central
midfielder.
Movsisyan, who himself joined Spartak from FC Krasnodar last year for a record 20 million Euros transfer fee, said that Glushakov will definitely help Spartak in reclaiming a decent spot on the Russian Premier League table next
season.
The Myaso had a below par league campaign last term, as they finished on the fourth spot on the league table with 51 points.
Though the Moscow-based club missed out on a chance to secure UEFA Champions League berth this season, Movsisyan remains optimistic about the team’s chances to go through to the final stages in the UEFA Europa League.
Spartak played in the Champions League last season courtesy to their second-spot finish during 2011-12 Premier League campaign. They defeated Fenerbahce in the play-off round to reach the group stages.

Movsisyan went on to welcome the prospect of playing in the European tournament despite missing out Champions League football.
