Mower problems?

ok, so i drained the oil, change the spark plug, put on new air filter, it's not really smoking like you'd think-- it is a briggs and stratt. 500 series weed eater push mower(if that helps). is there any thing else i can do to get this s****.running? oh-- too much oil was initially put in a supposedly new mower from wally world.

  1. choke on full crank it up see if it works.


  2. they do intentionally put a little extra oil in a new mower to compensate for the extra oil it uses till its run in....if you replaced the spark plug did you set the gap to the-requirements as stated in your user manual ?......poopdeck

  3. Hello dano,

    A flammable liquid to prime the spark plug would help.  Stater fluid (aerosol for automotive purposes), a little gas, or denatured alcohol would work.

  4. pull sparkplug wire to ensure you have a spark.  then make sure you have a clean carb and fresh gas.
