  1. you might have also sucked some water into the carb.  take the plug out and see if it's wet with water.

buy a can of (i think it's called) Quick Start.

    i think it's actually either.   it's very vol-ital.

take the cover off the carb and spray it into the carb for about 2 seconds.  try to start the mower immediately.  you may have to do that several times. no more than 4 times i would suggest.

if there is water in there it may help to get it out of the system.

if not (if you put a new filter in) drain all the gas out of the tank and lines, and put new gas back in.

hope one of the two answers helps get it going again.

NEVER LET IT RUN DRY AGAIN!

  2. quantum is an old briggs& stratton brand engine...if it was equiped with a primer bulb on the carburetor ...check to see that it is still in good condition [ not cracked, collapsed,or rotted open]..if equiped with a diaphram controled choke system...be sure choke plate closes at full throttle before attempting to start....most of theese model,s were equipted with a primer bulb...theese carburetor,s are especially prone to small particle,s of debris....remove the air filter , using a spray can of carb. cleaner with a spray tube attached...spray into the small orifices you see in the carb.to clear any debris...press primer a few time,s & try to start...if you turned the mower upside down you may see a lot of oil at the carb...if so this must be cleaned/cleared before starting...if you still have problem,s you can e-mail me for more information...good luck!

  3. Check the air filter too, it may be plugged, clean it if necessary.

  4. Probably plugged fuel filter. when you run tank out of gas it sucks dirt and gunk from bottom of tank. this will clog the filter. Try a new fuel filter.

  5. If it ran dry You may have to clean the fuel lines.

  6. If it has a primer bulb pump it several extra times if not pull with choke on till it tries to start then put to run and pull.
