Mowing my neightbors yard?

so we moved in a little less then a year ago. all our neighbors our amazing and we love them all except the people right next to us. we tried introducing our selfs and they didnt say much. my dad trys to talk to the man while they are mowing yards and he turns his back to him. my dad always mows about a feet into his yard so it doesnt look unfinished and we thought this was nice...well today we came home and there was a squirrel statue thing stuck in the ground inbetween our yards. we think he is trying draw a line in the sand. what do you think?

Tell your dad to mow his own yard and forget about it.  Some people are unsociable and there is nothing you can do to change it.  Maybe he thinks your dad is trying to "steal" his property?????

COMMUNICATE..... Maybe the neighbor is trying to do the same thing as your dad. i think your dad is trying the best .

Your dad should talk to the neighbor about putting up a fence between the two properties -- your dad could also put up a fence one or two inches on his own property line, and just mow/keep it trimmed on his side.

(-: Fences make good neighbors -- well, not really, but it sounds like your neighbor isn't really the talk-y sort, so it's best not to annoy him too much.

Time for a fence.  Remember the old saying, "Good fences make good neighbors".

Some people just want their privacy.  Also have a surveyor verify your property line.

dont give up . he may mean it in a freindly(his) way. dont take it as a bad thing try taling to them im sure there just shy or private neighbors but they may wind up being your best neighbors  good luck

At least your neighbor mows his lawn...we have a neighbor thats been here long before we were, and all of the houses have fairly neat lawns except his, it's always at least 3-5 feet high (but in patches) I don't think there is any grass left under there, just weeds, and they are brown weeds at that.  I've heard of neighbors sneaking over and mowing the lawn for them, but I've never seen it happen, and I've only seen him mow it once in a year and it took him like hours to mow the small front yard cause it was so high, and they did it then only because I think someone called county on him.  They have a giant trash can on the porch that I've never seen get emptied, and it is truely the definition of 'trash'. And the wife is like a nurse! And they have a kid in the scouts! Sorry just venting, I just get sick of looking at it.

looks like it to me just do your side, his will look overgrown and he should get out there to mow so other neighbors dont think his yard looks bad. my neighbor mows after we do : )

Your neighbor sounds like a freakin' wierdo. Your dad is doing the nice, neighborly thing and the neighbor is just not receptive. Something wierd is going on with the neighbor. Maybe his best friend used to live in your house and he resents your moving in...it could be anything...but most likely the guys just a jerk. All you can do in that case is keep being nice because if he gets all pissed off at yall you'll have a nasty neighbor and believe me, they can make life hard on you.
