Mowing your yard?

Do you have a method of cutting your yard?

I place weed killer around posts and keep my walks and gardens edged so I have little to no weeding. Then I mow three circles around the outside edges, cut diagonally from corner to corner and finish by re-cutting diagonally the opposite way making X's while pulling a ground roller and bagger the entire time of cutting at 2 inches.

  1. Yes, I always use a method, as my garden (yard) is diagonal, Looking through from the house, I start on the right hand sideand work my way to the left, and as the mower has a roller it leaves the lawn striped. The next time I cut I reverse the procedure, Starting at the opposite end and on the opposite side, this ensures that anything I missed the previous cut, I will catch this time. We're all silly.

  2. If I used your methods I would harm my grass.  Unless you have bentgrass you should be mowing at a minimum of 3 inches to promote deep root grown.  A lawn should never be rolled as it compacts the soil.  And unless you are trying to rid a lawn of fungus you should never bag as the clippings contain nitrogen and will green the lawn up.

  3. i just make lines. i go one way fowards...and then go backward in that same spot. then i move over the lawnmower a bit and then do the same thing. hahaha i dont know thats just what my dad tells me to do...i get paid for it so whatever he says go's! im only twelve hahah so yeah and im a girl so like its really hard to push the lawn mower but whateve for money or shoes ill do it!
