Everton’s boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Rodwell-c17462 to focus on the next season, after missing out on the action for most of the current campaign due to an injury.
The 21 year old has made just 17 appearances for the Toffees this season, after being hampered by a recurring hamstring injury over the last six months. He has only represented the Merseyside team five times in the last five months.
On Saturday, the club confirmed that the player has been ruled out for the rest of the season after pulling his hamstring during training. The midfielder will be sent to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 for treatment.
However, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 manager advised his player to set his sight on the next season, and ruled out the possibility that he may represent England in the upcoming Euro 2012 in the summer.
"I would advise him to concentrate on next season," Moyes said, as quoted byBBC Sport.
"I think it would be hard for Jack [to represent England]. He would have to get back playing regularly."
Rodwell, who was also the captain of England Under 16 in 2006, featured in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 in November. He made his Premier League debut in March 2008. Since then, he has represented Everton in 109 matches, and has scored
9 goals in total.
Everton have reportedly requested Bayern Munich’s doctor, Muller-Wohlfahrt for the player’s treatment. Moyes confirmed that the club will try to take an appointment from the German doctor, despite his busy schedule ahead of Munich’s semi-final clash with
Real Madrid.
“Dr Muller-Wohlfahrt is away this week and because he is the Bayern Munich doctor, he has a very big week next week because of their Champions League semi-final. So trying to get hold of him will be the hardest thing certainly in the short term.” He added.
Even though the player has suffered from hamstring injuries six times this season, the Scott revealed that Rodwell is likely to make a complete recovery, by the start of the next season.
Moyes said, “He trained Saturday morning and felt his hamstring again. He had a scan. It's a grade one [tear] which is small.”
