Everton boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Moyes, has challenged his side to go all out and secure a place in Champions League this season.
The Scott’s comments came at the eve of the Toffees crucial fixture against Arsenal at Goodison Park on Wednesday.
The Merseyside club currently occupies the fifth spot in the table, having collected 21 points from their 13 matches.
However, after getting their campaign off to a sublime start, the men in blue have struggled to assemble points recently.
They were beaten 2-1 by Reading and forced to settle for a stalemate against Norwich City in their last two matches, allowing West Bromwich Albion to leapfrog them to the third place and claim a five-point advantage over them.
The team’s lacklustre form of late has dented their Champions League ambitions considerably, even though many had started to label them as the Premier League’s dark horse for this season.
Nonetheless, Moyes was confident that he possesses the set of players who can help the Toffees break into the glamorous European competition.
The 49-year old underscored that his side came agonizingly close of claiming a berth in the Europa League last season, but feels that they are better prepared this time around.
“We are going to try to push. A club like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 are not out of their depth in Europe and we have to try to push to do that as we’ve missed out the last couple of seasons,” he told the reporters in an interview.
Everton face a challenging fixture against the Gunners at home on Wednesday. The Toffees will be desperate to return to winning ways and close out the gap on their top-four rivals.
Although Moyes admitted that the match won’t be a simple walk in the park for his side, he backed them to continue with their impressive home form and secure all three points.
The Merseyside club are yet to lose at Goodison Park this campaign.
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are a good team and that is why they continually finish in a Champions League spot so it is a tough game. We have been playing quite well and no-one gets an easy time at Goodison,” he added.
