Everton beat Sunderland 2-0 on in the quarterfinals, after a goal from striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nikica-Jelavic-c27906 and an own goal from David Vaughan steered the Toffees into the last four of the competition. The win enabled Everton to stretch their unbeaten run against the
Black Cats to 16 matches in all competitions.
However, Moyes believes that his side will be the underdogs when they will take on the Reds in the semi-final.
“Liverpool will be favourites - they have beaten us twice this year haven’t they so they have to go into the game as favourites but we will go there and play,” the Scott said.
Liverpool beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park in October and thrashed their Merseyside rivals 3-0 at Anfield earlier this month. But the Scott believed that being a favourite will add an extra bit of pressure on the Reds, as it did on the Black Cats in the
quarterfinal.
He went on to add, “I think there will be times in games where you are expected to play and maybe tonight the expectancy went on to Sunderland a little bit.”
Moyes was also all praise for his side after the Sunderland match and thought that his team faced an uphill task of beating the Black Cats, who had earlier managed to pull out a result at Goodison Park. He also said that getting into the semi-finals of a
cup was not something new for Everton as they have been there on many occasions.
Moyes specifically heaped praise on the Croatian striker, Jelavic and thought that the player had attuned himself nicely at Everton. He also expressed satisfaction over the Toffees standing in the current season and admired his team’s performance in some
big games that they have played this season.
The Everton duo of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Cahill-c35085 also raved about their team’s effort at the Stadium of Lights and mentioned that they were looking forward towards the Merseyside clash against Liverpool in the semi-final.
“It was a fantastic performance. To come to an away ground and play like that, we played without fear and we deserved the win.” Neville told while talking to reporters.
Cahill also applauded his team’s performance and said that he believed his side was capable of going all the way in the tournament.
"The manager knows what we are capable of and it is about time we started producing performances like this.”
Everton have won the FA Cup five times with their last triumph coming in 1995. The Toffees lost the final 2-1 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the 2009.
