The Merseyside outfit finished seventh in the final league standings last season, courtesy their scintillating late run, and impressive performances at home. All in all, the men in blue bagged 10 wins out of their 19 fixtures at Goodison Park.
However, their away showing remained an area of concern for the Scott, who saw his side secure just 5 wins to 6 losses on the road.
After getting their 2012/13 campaign off to a sublime start by beating Manchester United 1-0 at home, Everton will now take on Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday.
Even though the Toffees are now riding on a ten-match unbeaten streak in the league games, their upcoming fixture promises to be an intriguing one, as they have not won a match at Villa Park since February, 2005.
Having set himself the target of upstaging the dominance of the top flight Premier League teams this season, Moyes insisted it was important that his side improved on their away performances.
The 49-year old also pointed out that after struggling to secure results at Goodison in the preliminary stages in the previous term, it was their impressive away record which kept them in contention of finishing in the top half of the table.
He told the reporters in an interview, “It is important you get wins away from home. Last season we struggled to win at Goodison at first and went four of five games without winning there and at that time we got a few results away from home and it was those
that kept our heads above water.”
Given the admission of a couple of new signings this summer, coupled with the blistering form of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 have now become an EPL force to be reckoned with.
Moyes was confident his side will be able to notch up victories at their own citadel this season, but insisted their chances of qualifying for the Champions League will hinge on how well they do in the away games.
“It is vital you find a way of winning regularly winning away from home or at least find a way of getting results,” he added.
