http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 should consider the option of sharing a common ground, which will serve as a mutually beneficial solution for both the Merseyside clubs who are already experiencing stadium problems.
It is no hidden secret that the Reds are already contemplating building a new stadium as a surrogate for the low capacity Anfield, with some reports suggesting that they might stick with the current stadium but will seek its annexation.
While on the other hand, the Toffees have been entrenched in a financial quagmire recently, which has forced the club’s top hierarchy into exploring new stadium options.
With no formal decision being taken as yet by both the clubs to solve their stadium woes, the Toffees boss proposed a joint ground for the Merseyside outfits, which he believes will create a win-win situation for both the sides.
While talking to reporters, he said: “I'd take a shared stadium, because I think Everton need it probably more than Liverpool - although it's not in our culture to share stadiums.”
The most notable example of the common ground case is that of San Siro. Both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and AC Milan use the historic arena for their home games.
Even though Moyes explained the advantages of a common stadium for Liverpool and Everton, he admitted that it’s the latter who will benefit more out of the deal, and the idea is more than likely to be turned down by the Reds.
As the European Championships nears conclusion, the transfer activities are expected to go full throttle, as the clubs gear up for the next season.
The 49-year old revealed that despite being marred by financial constraints, he plans on making intelligent transfers in the summer window, and insisted that he does not require a lump sum amount for that.
He added, “I'm out at the Euros talking to my players, looking at others, and I and the chairman will be trying to keep things rolling along.”
“At Everton, I think we could make a difference without too much money, we don't necessarily need £50m-60m... but if someone did give me a wad of cash I'd be delighted!”
