Everton manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew made about his team, and admitted that the Magpies enjoyed more success than them last season.
The boss at the Sports Direct Arena commented last season, prior to his side’s league game against the Toffees, that his team were in a different league than the Merseyside outfit.
The Magpies went on a remarkable run of form in the previous campaign, finishing above http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at the fifth place in the table.
Everton, who were themselves one of the hottest teams in the league in the closing stages of the term, had to settle for a seventh place finish.
However, the last time the two sides met, it were the Merseysiders who ran away with the honours, recording a comprehensive 3-1 win at Goodison Park in May.
Nonetheless, the Scott was not fazed by Pardew remarks. Instead, he went on to concede that the Toon have enjoyed more success than his team lately in the Premier League, and remained strong contenders for the Champions League berth throughout the campaign.
“People can say what they like in terms of where http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 are compared to Newcastle. I thought they did great last year as they kept it going when people thought they would fade away. For a long time they were very close to being a Champions League team,”
he told the reporters.
Anyhow, Moyes praised his side for showing consistency over the last decade. He pointed out that despite being marred by financial constraints and having limited resources, they have managed to keep up with the top flight clubs.
“We have been in strong positions. They finished above us last season. You are only as good as your last one and in the last one they did better than us. Over the years we’ve done pretty well with the resources we have available to us,” he added.
The Toffees will play host to Newcastle on Monday. They have currently got six points from their first three games. A win would put them level on points with second-placed Manchester United.
