  1. in FF, go to Bookmarks>organise bookmarks>import/export

or use Foxmarks to synchronize your bookmarks

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...

similarly, you can export/import passwords with Password Exporter

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...

  2. Press Ctrl + D to save a bookmark

and Ctrl + B to view your bookmarks

  3. If you can't find the bookmarks.html file, you can do the following from a FF window:

Click on Bookmarks > Organise Bookmarks

In the pop-up window, in the left-hand pane, click on "All Bookmarks". On the toolbar along the top, you should see the "Import and Backup" button. Click on this and select "Export HTML".

Save this file on your desktop.

When you have re-installed FF, go via the same options above: Bookmarks > Organise Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Import HTML > From an HTML File > Select the file "bookmarks.html" from your desktop and complete the import process.

    Hope this was clear =)

  4. They should be saved automatically, don't worry about it.

  5. FF bookmarks are in your Mozilla profile folder. It's a file called "bookmarks.html".

I use Linux, so my location is different from Windows, but do a search for that file under your Documents and Settings profile folder for your system. You'll find it.

Save that file. When you reinstall FF later, open the Organize Bookmarks tool on the Bookmarks menu selection, and import that file. This is really the only way to get them into your new FF profile correctly. You use to be able to just drop the file in place, but this method is a lot easier than searching for the right location.

And don't listen to that guy above me. NOTHING is saved "automatically."
