I just uninstalled limewire off my computer, cuz it sucks, but i was wondering something. I use Mozilla, and when i click on a torrent to download it a small window pops up to show what its opening it with. Well, above that, it says the file name, and under that, that its a Limewire Torrent. Does this mean the torrent file im trying to download is a limewire, or my computer sees it as a limewire. Its been limewire for almost every torrent i check, I was just wondering, hope i explain it well enough!

  1. It means that you deleted limewire, but it's still listed as the program that opens torrent files.  (Limewire is a bit torrent client.)

  2. Since you did have Limewire, your computer recognized Limewire as the default .torrent opener. If you download any other Torrent client (like uTorrent or BitTorrent), Firefox will recognize your new torrent client as the default .torrent opener (after you make the new program the default .torrent client).

  3. Even though you deleted the program your computer recognizes that file type associated with limewire since it was installed orignally. If you install a new Bittorrent software you may be able to re-associate the file types to the new software

  4. That means limewire is the default torrent program @ your PC ..

  5. It means that you deleted limewire
