Mp3/Mp4 player not detected by the PC

Hi,

I have a local mp3/mp4 player. I am not able to turn on my mp3/mp4 player. When I try to connect the mp3 player with the pc or when I try to charge it, the player doesn't responds to the action. Once I connected the player to the pc via USB cable, suddenly the players LCD screen was turned off and after that the above mentioned problem exists till date. Is it because of any short circuit in the player? your solution will be very much appreciated.
