Mpeg to avi???

Question

i hav a jvc hdd camerca and want to send videos from there to my comp and want to edit them on windows movie maker or nero but it is a "movie clip" type and i want an avi.. on the video icon itself says mpeg but i got 3 mpeg to avi converters and those dont work. what do i do?

The HDD camcorder is recording in MPEG-2, which WMM can't edit.  AVI isn't a video format, it's a file format - the video content can be in any format, just so long as it complies with the AVI rules.  Your MPEG to AVI converters are almost certainly converting to DivX, but WMM has problems with that, too!  See if you can convert to DV AVI or WMV.  If you can't, get hold of Super and use that to convert to WMV.
