Mpg file won't play!?

Question

I downloaded a bitorrent batch of daria episodes that are in .mpg format. The first 3 played fine no problem, but when I got to the 4th one it wouldn't play in windows media player and neither would the 5th or 6th one. I tried them in VLC player and all I got was sound with no video stream though when I checked the view options for VLC player it showed that there was in fact a video stream present. I updated all my codecs, but to no avail I can't get these files to work. Can anyone help me?

It is obviously a corrupted file.

You get what you pay for.

VLC uses built in codecs. Updating your codec might fix WMP, but it'll make no difference to VLC. If it doesn't play in VLC there's a good chance there's something wrong with the files themselves.
