Mr Snoozy has a lot to offer in Moor Top Farm Shop Hemsworth Handicap at Pontefract
Mr Snoozy is upped 4lb, but the way he raised his game recently, one can easily expect him to deliver a thumping performance in the Class 5 Moor Top Farm Shop Hemsworth Handicap, to be held at Pontefract on Sunday, July 29th.
On good to firm, Mr Snoozy along with 14 runners will run for a handsome cash prize worth £2,911. The 1m4f8y meeting is scheduled to begin at 14:50 GMT.
Mr Snoozy made a few terrible outings before breaking the shackles at the start of June. He ran quite nicely to ensure the runner-up spot behind Flashman in the Market Cross Jewellers Maiden Handicap at Redcar.
A classy act forced the bookmakers to rate him favourite for his subsequent trip at Beverley. However, Tim Walford’s charge could not sway things in his favour and as a result, ended up third in the Sailun - Tyregiant.com Handicap. Luck was not on his side that day, as he missed the second spot only by a head’s distance.
After a couple of unlucky trips, the dashing runner managed to get his act together, when beating the 3-1 favourite, Jennifer, in the Wayne Conway Memorial Handicap here earlier this month. The track is a lot harder this time, but he deserves plenty of respect for his recent improvement.
Fleeting Fashion will be another to watch out for. Michael Appleby’s trainee opened her account by beating Mr Snoozy and the rest of the pack at Beverley last month.
The 3-year-old was a bit lazy in her recent appearance at Catterick. She was well in command at one stage, but staying on once pace in the final stages did not help her at all. As a result, she finished third behind Red Tyke in the August 17th Is Ladies Evening Handicap.
The competition is quite open, but the 3-year-olds at the bottom of the weights, Mr Snoozy and Fleeting Fashion, look to be the strongest candidates. It will be a very close battle between them, but Mr Snoozy is just preferred, because the ground is more suitable for him. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
