Mr Woods primed to perform well at Hexham – Handicap Chase Preview
Mr Woods is going to complete the first ever hat-trick of his career by winning the high-status race of James “Rob” Robinson Memorial Handicap Chase at Hexham racecourse on Thursday, March 15.
The Class 4 contest of 4m distance will begin at 3:35 (GMT). For the prize money of £3,119, the Harriet Graham-trained bay gelding is set to compete against 10 rivals including Dove Hill, Boris The Blade, Ballycarron Lad, Overyou, Chernik, Bubbly Breeze,
Esme Rides a Gaine, Matmata De Tendron, Seeking Power and Moneylaws.
During the first decade of March 2012, the ten-year-old veteran runner bagged a couple of consecutive victories. He ran for both the times with favourite tags.
Since making his debut in January 2007, the dashing horse has been performing consistently. He has accomplished a number of glaring feats in total 30 races of his career.
At the moment, the Laumar Racing-owned gelding is carrying abundant of momentum and fighting spirit which he will surely unleash at Hexham in a bid to earn his third straight success.
Mr Woods’ chances to finish first in the race are as high as 95 percent provided he succeeds in sustaining his winning momentum.
Among the other runners, Esme Rides A Gaine and Matmata De Tendron look to be solid enough.
Esme Rides A Gaine has been performing well on different tracks since last few months. Christopher Wilson’s veteran mare bagged her last victory on April 14, 2011.
She finished third each in her last two outings. She is likely to show a decent run in today’s marathon.
On the other hand, Matmata De Tendron has won 8 out of his total 62 races to date. The trainee of Andrew Crook started his career in August 2004. His last victory came in March 2011. He is also supposed to show reasonable firepower in the race.
None of these two runners is likely to impede Mr Woods’ way towards victory. Thus, the Handicap Chase is anticipated to be a cool competition. Good luck to all the runners.
