in favor...they look cool...they shoot ok...good prices...side eject so nice low scope mount.......on the bad side.....they only shoot ok..if ur shooting bewond 125/150 yrds get a bolt action...old and small choice of calibers  30/30 and 35..new cartrages just came out so u can use pointed builts in tube magazine.[thats a plus]...i qwned a 35 cal 336 and shot 2 deer w it...a nice gun...

Marlin makes the best lever guns in the known universe. The 336 is the epitome of 30-30 lever guns. You simply cannot go wrong with Marlin.

Marlin 336 is a great rifle.

I have two 30-30 Win and 35 Remington.

Deer and Hogs have never complained once after being introduced to either rifle.

The 35 Rem also sports Ashley Outdoors Ghost Ring sights for fast action.

Marlin 336 is a great gun. Its action is very strong and it is also smooth. Felt recoil from the same cartridge will be less compare to Winchester 94's. Marlin 336 in 35 Remington is one of my main rifles.

Hands down the 30-30 has taken more deer than any other rifle. The Marlin makes the best one out there. Henry Golden Boys, and the Winchester 94 are good, but not great. The pre 1964 Winchesters would rival the 336 but not anymore. If you want more distance from virtually the same rifle, go with the 308MX or MXLR. Built on the same action with a larger caliber. If you use either of them, look into the Hornady LeverEvolution. The with reach out an accurate extra 50 yards or so on the 30-30. Hard, flat shooting round with great knockdown power.
