Mrs. Turner's...? In need of a classroom theme!?

Question

I am going to be a Kindergarten teacher this fall and my last name is Turner. I am having a hard time coming up with a classroom theme. I like Mrs. Turner's Learners but no one else does because there is no mascot. I'd like it to be Mrs. Turner's T....something.

I agree...Mrs. Turner's learners is PERFECT!!  If you need something to be a mascot use a lightbulb!

I actually think the fact that your name rhymes with 'learners' is almost too perfect!  Forget that 'tigers' stuff...what does being a tiger have to do with school?  Turner's Learners is an awesome theme..You could focus on how as kindergarteners, they are TURNING into 'professional'  learners...and that learning is their  only job right now.  Your bulletin boards can focus on different subjects, like Turner's Math Learners...etc.  

In terms of needing an object to focus on, you could use street sign shapes that say something like "TURN here to learn".  I think it's an awesome theme with tons of potential for creativity and different applications.

By the way, congrats and good luck...teaching is the greatest job in the world (most days at least! lol)

I don't see whats wrong with Mrs. Turner's Learners.. I think it sounds good.. It doesn't sound any different then other names.. I actually kind of like it
