Ms excel trouble :( ?

hi guys,

ive just been given a task to design a table using ms excell. its meant to have drop down menus, and if i click on an item from within the drop down list, it should come up with a separate table with more information about the item. so, for example, if in the main table i would be finding out a type of vehicle eg. sports car) and amount sold, whereas if i clicked on the the 'sports car', it should come up with a list of makes (eg. bmw). when you click on one of the makes, a new table will appear with the model, who it was sold to and date etc.

is that possible? if so, does anyone know how to go about it?

any help would be most appreciated.

Well I recommend that you go to the Department Of Labor and get your self some training concerning Excel obviously I they do hold free classes in no time you'll be a Pro

Without getting quite deep, you may be able to simply leverage Excel's DataFilters function. Be sure that your data is organized well and has headers for all columns. Click on your row of headers and go to Data->Filter->Autofilter.

I know you can insert drop down lists in Excel, but I've never used them.  

Try "Tools" - "Customize" - "Commands" - "Control toolbox" - "Combo box".

i reccomend you use access for drop downs.
