I found the phrase "plant/msuperscript 2" written in an agricultural research. By googling the term, I found it used in other web pages also in agricultural contexts in the form of "somthing per msuperscript 2".

What does msuperscript 2 mean? It looks like an agricultural term, but I do not know what its meaning is.

  1. It simply means, (let's say) plants/square meter . It is used when the instrument you are writing with, like my computer, doesn't have a superscript key. If you were counting fish in the water, you might use fish/msuperscript 3, or fish/cubic meter.

It is a term sometimes used in agriculture, but not necessarily an agricultural term.
