  1. Mt. Everest is partially in India also.  It can be accessed from  the South-east from Indian side and from the Nort-East-West side from Tibet also.

  2. I dont know...

It lies in the border of Nepal and India...

Nepal is a small country and most people dont even know that nepal exists.

Look at the first people (Suryaaag) who answered. He still thinks that Nepal is in the border of India.

I think it is mostly because of the bad PR of Nepal. If you are going to India then the major and big travel agents will give you a package that let you go to Mt. Everest. Anyone will get visa on the border as it is the policy of the Nepali Government. So people going to Everest may have not realised that he went to a different country.

And everest region is not that far from Indian border. It may be noted that Nepal is not that a big country.

Also it should be noted that Mt. Everest lies in the Himalayan Range. This range touches Afganistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, China, Bhutan, and Myanmar. In afganistan and myanmar it is not that high.

  3. they failed geography?

  4. it's so big and the Himalayan range is so long that some of its part extends to India as well. that's the reason they think its in India.
