my friends has two mtx jachammer 5500 series 12's, does anyone know the freq. range?? i know it sounds stupid, like you should just be able to check their site but its not on there...

  1. The frequency range for most good subs is around 20 to 1000 hertz.   They will play lower but at a steep drop off in output, you can't hear anything below 20 anyway, just feel it.  Some amps have subsonic filters so you don't waste your energy and speakers on these lower frequencies.  And subs aren't good at making frequencies over 500-1000 hertz cause they are just too big.

    If you are making a box and want to tune the port to a certain frequency try and find the natural frequency of your car first.  You can try and find that info online as well.
