Mubadala World Tennis Championship is a perfect entry for Rafael Nadal – Tennis News
King of clay, Rafael Nadal, is passionate to return to the hard courts of Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex in Zayed Sports City for the Mubadala World Tennis Championship on 27th December 2012. He will feature
his comeback in the professional tennis after six months and his fans are all-excited on his return.
In an interview Nadal said, “After this long period away from competition with all these months of rehabilitation and now hard practice, I am excited to see the moment to play again is close. Every time I play, I give my 100 per
cent and try to win and it will be no different in Abu Dhabi. Obviously coming back from injury will be tough but the Mubadala World Tennis Championship is exactly the test I need for my game and my fitness. Being in a tournament setting while getting match
fitness against some tough competition in good weather can only help me move forward.”
The left-hander has attained the title twice in the past i.e. in 2010 and 2011. In the year 2009, he faced a disappointing thrashing at the hands of the Andy Murray in the final round. This year he will be facing tough competition
at the hands of his rivals such as the world number one, Novak Djokovic, his compatriot, David Ferrer, the London 2012 gold medallist, Andy Murray, Janko Tipsarevic and Tomas Berdych.
The 26-year-old will certainly have a tough time in Abu Dhabi but he does not expect to return in the same form. He faced a surprising loss at the hands of the Czech rival Lukas Rosol due to his persistent knee injury in the second
round of Wimbledon Championships earlier this year. He was unable to defend his title and his world rankings considerably dropped.
Reigning world number four, Nadal, will face the winner of the match between Murray and the Serbian professional, Tipsarevic. The Serbian contender, Djokovic will be paired against the winner of the match between Ferrer and Berdych.
Nadal might also face a tough competition at the hands of Djokovic.
