Question:

Mucus in baby's p**p?

my 4 month old is exclusively bottlefed with breastmilk. now and then she has a bit of mucus in her p**p, but today she had a normal p**p when she woke up in the morning, then she has had 3 more p**p diapers that seem to be mostly mucus. it is yellowish in color and seems to be a jelly-like consistency. she is also teething (her first two teeth broke through within the past week) and she is drooling a lot and biting her fingers a lot. she has not been overly fussy and seems to be healthy. Is this normal? is it from the teething or could it be something else? she goes to the dr on friday so I plan to discuss this then. (or sooner if she seems to be sick, obviously)

  1. My daughter is also 4 months and bf... but no teethies yet!  She has had a few poops like that too.  My ped says the jelly like p**p is really common when they are teething because of all the extra saliva it stimulates.  I'm sure she is fine but double check with the doc if you're still worried.  Cheers!

  2. save a sample to show your doctor, but what you're describing does not sound like mucus.  I think it is normal breastmilk p**p.
