http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mudassar-Nazar-c77867 slams Hafeez’ recent batting performances – Cricket News
Pakistan’s former cricketer and coach, Mudassar Nazar has slammed the recent performances of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Hafeez-c76898 with the bat at international level and urged the cricketer from Sargodha to take the responsibility on his shoulders.
Having done well at the domestic level, Hafeez made his way to the highest stage of the sport in 2003. The right-handed batsman failed to cement his place in the national because of too many inconsistent performances.
During the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 2010, Hafeez made a comeback to the national team and looked a much improved player. Since then, he has been a permanent member of the Pakistan team in all the three formats of the game.
Over the past few months, however, the top-order batsman has struggled to score runs. During the recently-concluded tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, Hafeez managed to score just one half-century in seven innings, five One Day Internationals
and a couple of T20 Internationals.
While speaking to Pakpassion, Mudassar admitted that Hafeez has been doing brilliantly with the ball but feels that he has to score runs consistently in order to justify his place in the national team.
The ex-coach said, “He has to prove himself. He has too many bad times as a top order batsmen and he couldn't click, but we need to remedy that somehow. At the moment, because of his bowling, he gets into the team. However, an
all-rounder should get into the team by virtue of either bowling or batting - that's the definition of a decent and proper all-rounder.”
In 2012, Hafeez replaced http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 as the T20 captain.
Mudassar further added that the all-rounder has a lot of experience of international cricket and it is about time that he takes the responsibility on his shoulders.
“He's been around for well over ten years, so it's about time he took responsibility and scored runs at the top consistently at number 1 or number 3,” the former opening batsman mentioned.
