A few years ago I listened to a BBC radio adaptation of a biography on Ali, written by a english gentlemen who knew Ali.

As a young boy in England he protested against Ali's imprisonment for not fighting in Vietnam. When Ali got realised they became good friends.

I would like to read the biography does anyone know the title of the book and the authors name?

  1. As a 17 year old, I wagered my Greengrocer father (who knew Henry Cooper) that Cassius Clay would beat Sonny Liston. I stayed up (the event was televised at about 4 in the morning - it was such a long, long time ago) in order to watch it. At the end of the fight, I went over to my parents' flat (they lived just up the road) knocked on the door, woke up my dad, and, asked him to honour the bet. To begin with, he refused to believe that Clay had 'bested' Liston. Once it had 'sunk' in, he 'coughed up.' Wonderful days, during which, our hearts (as well as my Late Father's wallet) were lighter! There shall never be another Muhammad Ali. Ever. To this family, He represents Sainthood.
