Muhammad Sajjad and his journey towards “the glory land”
Snooker is one the classy games that allows one to compete without having to exert a lot physically. It has a flair of its own, where players try to strike a ball with a wooden rod. The game requires the player to be mentally-active and sleek. Snooker is with any doubt, one of those games where every shot played can change the outcome of a match.
Pakistani player, Muhammad Sajjad is a new sensation in the world of snooker. He managed to make his name within the local community and got noticed in the international scenario as well. Muhammad is currently playing the final of the Korat Cup that is taking place in Karachi.
Muhammad Sajjad is Pakistan’s premier snooker player and has made his nation proud. In a country where the sport of snooker is taken for granted, Sajjad managed to improve his skills by practising hard. Despite limited snooker opportunities and zero coaching centres, Muhammad is on his way to winning the Korat final.
The exceptionally talented player has managed to bag multiple achievements. During his career in snooker, he grabbed one bronze medal and played for numerous finals. A few months earlier, the Pakistani snooker sensation had reached the Asian snooker final, where he lost to the all-time Thai favourite Issara Kachaiwong. However, Issara defeated Sajjad after the later managed to grab the first frame. In a crucial response, the Thai outplayed the Pakistani player and managed to steal the show by securing the second frame with a break of 78.
Despite his defeat in Asian Championship, the young Pakistani player seems to be determined for the Korat Cup. He believes in learning from his mistakes. He has managed to storm into the final of the Korat Cup this time with an extravagant win over Noppadon Noppachorn with 4-2 in the semis of Korat. Sajjad put up quite a show after he got into the tournament as a wildcard. The astounding player and his unique playing strategies resulted in a win and that too with a century break and two and half century breaks.
Sajjad’s talent helped him become the second Asian wildcard ever to enter the final of Korat Tournament. After his counterpart won the first frame in the semi, Sajjad’s elegant style enabled him to grab the next 3 frames to establish a lead of 3-1 winning by 65-21, 121-10 and 105-9 respectively.
However, the Thai player was able to bounce back by winning the next game 17-70 but Muhammad took away the final frame 74-8 to win the match and reach the final of the Korat Cup.
One of the most talented snooker players in the history of Pakistan, Muhammad Sajjad looks forward to put an end to his title-less period that spans over past four years. This also includes the Asian Cup that took place three months ago. The striker will be playing with Passakorn Suwannawat in the final of the Korat Cup.
