  1. religion has nothing to do with boxing. there has been a lot of great boxers before and after muhammad ali so its impossible to know if he is the best. rocky marciano, joe frazier, george foreman, and even the golden boy all could have beat him any day. the only reason people call him the best is because he called himself that. i know this much, just because you get drafted to vietnam doesnt mean its time to become muslim to get out of it. i think he is a coward but whatever.

  2. Well Ali was born with his talent, and he was born a Christian, and won Olympic Gold, and the World title while still a Christian.

So his conversion to Islam had nothing to do with it!

Also, Ali was not a traditional Muslim, he had affairs with women while he was married etc.

Actually Islam has LESS freedom than any other religion on the face of the planet!

You cant drink, you cant dance, you cant have s*x outside marriage(unless its with a small boy), you cant wear what you want, you cant eat pork, democracy, sexual, cultural and social freedom are Haram in Islam.

  3. He is the greatest boxer of all time nd always will be

  4. He is the greatest, and I don't think it matters what religion you believe in as long as you believe in god.

  5. he was and always will be the greatest, because he never forgot where he came from, always knew where he was going, and yes his religious beliefs helped him better himself through his never ending quest for knowledge

  6. hey do u understand whatu r  talking about,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,in sport there is nothing  to do with religion okey do u want to make some big problem or ,,,,,,,,,,,,,and the big thing is mohammed ali clay was cristian and changed ya,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hope that helps ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  7. As someone mentioned, Cassius Clay was a Christian before he converted to the Nation of Islam (which is a Cult, not a Religion). His family attended a Baptist Church every Sunday. He would have been the Greatest regardless of his religion. And if your statement is such a truism, Naseem Hamed (a devout Muslim) would have won World titles up to and including Lightweight, would have hammered Barrera...not to mention Floyd Mayweather, Rafael Marquez, Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales, Manny Pacquiao, and then retired undefeated. Oops...

  8. non dubium est quin .....<^><..........

    (there is no doubt)

  9. Muahmmad Ali converted to nation of Islam TRUE but then he became a SUNNI the major group of Muslims - which you will find is not like 'Nation of Islam'.

Nation of Islam has nothing to do with islam - its a pack of lies, which doesn't share the same basic beliefs of ALL Muslims.

Muhammad Ali is known as being the 'greatest' partly because he said he was but also because he was a exccellent boxer - definatly ONE OF THE BEST  or TOP 3.

He had Speed, Power, Confidence and a lot of Courage.

Also in the ring and before the fight PHYCOLOGICALLY beat the fighter.

  10. i dont believe religion had anything to do with his ability in the ring... religion guided him yes - but it didnt throw the punches for him.

it all depends on your own opinions i suppose...

he called himself the greatest... the world agreed...

but what did we agree on?

was he the greatest boxer of all time?

thats something nobody will ever know...

but for me... he was certainly ONE of the best...

and THE best entertainer heavyweight boxing has ever seen

  11. Don t talk nonsense!!!   Ali wasn t always muslim was he?!  when he was the (non muslim)  Cassius Clay he was still awesome, religions got nothing to do with it.

  12. He was the best heavyweight but greatest boxer not by a long shot. I don't think you can group all sports together and say he was the best sportsman. Lets just say he was good at what he done.

As for the other part of your question :)  , isn't Mike Tyson ( a convicted rapist ) a muslim.

RELIGION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SPORT.

  13. Ali's success in the ring was due to his God given skills. Not the faith in which he chose! If it were due to Muslim superiority, how would you explain his loss in the fight of the century to Frazier (a devout Christian)???? Not to mention the unfortunate circumstances in which he faces life today.

Ali at his peak (pre-layoff) was arguably the best fighter ever at heavyweight. There maybe an argument for Louis, Marciano, or even Holmes. But Ali's accomplishments in the ring were unequaled. He defeated several other men that are also in most peoples top 10 or 12 all time HW champs. Liston2x, Foreman, Frazier2x. His quality of opponent is unmatched. He fought other greats and came out on top. Louis, Marciano, never beat another top 10 all time Heavy. Holmes beat Ali, but a Ali that was 38 and a "shot" fighter.

  14. ofcourse he is not but hey the last 60 years usa runs the world so the propaganda must have greatest people in every field!oprah greatest woman, elvis the king, ali the best athlete, brad pitt most handsome man, merilyn most beautiful woman !~to all these propagand lies i answer fedor, alexander karelin, sofia lauren, michael shumaher, maradona, beatles, elton john, sergey bumka, bridjette bardo, alen delon etc etc I MEAN IS NTO OBVIOUS THAT AMERICANS PRESENT THEIR PEOPLE THE BEST WHILE THEY NOT??I MEAN WAKE UP PEOPLE IS OBVIOUS ALI WAS AVERAGE BOXER WITH BIG MOUTH!what so great of a boxer who lost 5 times???

  15. he is the greatest because he made people believe he was the greatest, mentality game, if you've seen at least 10 fight of ali you would know that there is at least 5 heavyweights that could beat him in his prime, Ali is not all that for real, any real boxer or coach can tell you that, but in his era he was totaly the most dominant not because he was a great athlete or he was just a natural fighter, its because of his mentality and strategy game, if you throw Ali in the heavyweight division in the 80's and 90's with all do respect to the greatest he would not be able to win a tittle, ask any real coach or trainer, plus when Ali was on the way up he was Cassius Clay and not a muslim

  16. It was the religion he felt was right for him. It was not the religion that made him the great sportsman he was. That came from within himself.

  17. Religion has nothing to do with it. This man was born with

superb talent and mastered it. If he had no religion, he'd

    still be the Greatest.

  18. Everyone is right, religion has nothing to do with it(although all muslim boxers are rubbish), anyway even though Ali was a very good athlete, he was very far from being the best....sure he's better then every modern day heavyweight but as a physical athlete he could never compare to Roy Jones Jr or Bernard Hopkins or Ray Leonard. Times change, Boxers are faster, stronger, more skilled and have better trainers who impose greater technique in their fighter
