Mujrayaat heading the rest lined up for the S O G Logistics Handicap on 17th February
Meydan is to host the S O G Logistics Handicap on Friday, 17th February which will be raced over seven furlongs by fourteen competing for the £9,677 purse.
Mujrayaat, the four-year-old bay gelding, is trained by Doug Watson and is one of the brightest candidates for the event today.
The race will mark his seasonal debut as he last raced on 14th September 2011. He raced thrice through the previous season and was entered as a favourite at all the instances.
Mujrayaat claimed the maiden stakes on 30th June on a field of fifteen, on which he was the 11/8 favourite. His next start was in the Wilford Watts Memorial Handicap on 26th July. The 2/1 favourite finished fourth on a track set for ten.
In his last season’s final race, Sea-Deer Handicap on 14th September, Mujrayaat was a 7/2 joint favourite and won with eight others battling for the wire.
Another entry from the same stable is of the four-year-old bay colt, Cinderkamp, who has had two outings already ever since the new season began. He finished seventh on a track of twelve in the initial attempt and then won the next race on 22nd January.
Cinderkamp won the Al Taweelah Handicap at Abu Dhabi. The colt has not raced in the Carnival till yet and S O G Logistics Handicap would be his first experience.
Doug Watson is likely to saddle Dherghaam too.
Four-year-old bay gelding, Fityaan will represent Al Muhairi. He has raced in 2012 twice already and is stepping up for the third start of the season.
He was second in the Al Jazir Handicap on 8th January at Abu Dhabi. The race was won by his stable mate Celtic King. Dherghaam, trained by Doug Watson finished the race ninth.
Fityaan’s second start of the year was on 22nd January in the Al Taweelah Handicap. He was cornered into the second position by the winner, Cinderkamp, who led by a head’s margin.
Fityaan, Cinderkamp and Dherghaam have shared tracks before but how they will measure up to Mujrayaat, will surface soon.
Saeed bin Suroor has the four-year-old colt, Les Troyens on his team for today.
