Muliaina, McCaw in as Carter misses out on next Super Rugby clash
Among the three All Blacks stars playing for various New Zealand’s conference in the ongoing Super Rugby, Mils Muliaina and Richie McCaw are back for their sides. Dan Carter was also hopeful of his retune but hamstring injury ruled him out yesterday during
the practice session.
Mils Muliaina is going to make a comeback for his side the Chiefs, after missing four games of the Super Rugby. He played his last against the Melbourne Rebels on the 5th March, after that he was sidelined due to back injury. H
e proved his suitability to the coach Ian Foster and was included in the side as a fullback. Muliaina will lead the side in the absence of their captain who has been neglected due to injury.
The Chiefs will take on the Crusaders, who are second on the point’s tables tomorrow in Mt Maunganui. There is a comeback for the Crusaders too, as they are welcoming the All Blacks captain Richie McCaw. McCaw will play his first of Super Rugby of this season
on Friday.
He was cleared to play the upcoming match against the Chiefs on 15th April after he proved his fitness to the trainers. He has been suffering from foot injury since the pre-season of the Super Rugby and could not play a single match in the championship.
He was looking in good colours during the off field activities and Crusaders’ selectors decided to include him for their eighth clash of the current season. However he will be tested again to assess the level of his fitness before the match.
Dan Carter was also ready to join the Crusaders on Friday but he was ruled out of contest right at the last minute. Carter was all set for his return and he took part in the warm up session but yesterday hamstring injury perished his dreams. He is out of
the side since the Twickenham clash against the Sharks because of same injury.
