The Bayern Munich midfielder has insisted that the club’s disappointing loss against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League final is now history.
The Bavarian giants lost this year’s Champions League at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 at the Allianz Arena last month. The team dominated the proceedings but ended up on the losing side unfortunately.
Thomas Muller claimed that the disappointments last season are all behind him now and wants to focus totally on the national side for the European championship. He admitted that the team was inconsolable when they lost two finals
in a matter of two weeks. Bayern also lost the German Cup final against Borussia Dortmund in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 last month.
The midfielder, who scored Bayern’s only goal in Champions League final, stressed that Bayern had a great chance to win both games which makes it much more disappointing for all the players. Joachim Low had revealed that Bayern
players were distraught after the loss and need some time to return to training for Euro 2012.
“Of course the season with Bayern is now behind us. It looked like it was going to be such a good season, but then losing those two finals in two weeks, and the way we lost them, doesn't really make you very happy now, does it?
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 22-year old is confident that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 will go all the way this time around and is looking forward to a successful tournament ahead. The player is willing to go into the competition with a positive mentality and wants to win
the competition after losing out to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 in the final in 2008.
“Speaking for myself, it no longer weighs me down. Things move so quickly in football and that was already two weeks ago and now we are focusing on the European Championships,” he concluded.
Thomas Muller was below par in the previous season and scored only 11 times in the 53 games he played. The player was restricted to a bench role in the latter stages of the season because of his poor form in both the Bundesliga
and the UEFA Champions League.
