The Bayern Munich midfielder has urged his side to improve ahead of the quarter-final clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908 on Friday.
The Mannschaft have had a sensational tournament thus far and have made their way to the last eight with a perfect record. Joachim Low’s men have won all the three games thus far against the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884
and are widely being touted as the team to win Euro 2012.
Muller played down the political aspect of the clash against the Greek side and is confident that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 will be able to capitalise on the brilliant form thus far in the tournament. The player claimed that winning the ‘Group of
Death’ has given his side a lot of confidence and his teammates will be looking to continue with the unbeaten run.
The Bayern Munich winger warned his side against any complacency and insisted that the Ethniki are well capable of causing an upset as they have some great players in their squad.
“The politics is not a topic for us and so far it has not come up. We are the only team to get nine points from the group stage and that has given us a lot of confidence. [Greece] have a few really good players in their ranks.
We must be careful,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the midfielder admitted that there is still room for improvement of his side needs to go all the way in the European championship. The German stressed that the players in attack have not played to their true
potential as not many opportunities have been created.
“I can understand that despite our three wins there is much more to be desired. Not everything went perfectly. We have not played up to our potential, especially in attack. Everything else was down to the opponents who defended
really well,” he concluded.
Thomas Muller has started every game for Germany in the Euro 2012 and has been a vital part of the squad. There were serious doubts regarding the player’s inclusion in the starting line-up after his rather satisfactory season with
Bayern Munich but the Bavarian has proved his doubters wrong.
