Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller has revealed that he prefers playing behind the striker and loves playing alongside the Mesut Ozil.
The German national team is being considered one of the favourites to win the European Championships next year. They have qualified for the event with a perfect record, winning all the ten games played.
Joachim Low’s side have now been drawn in Group-B, which is also being called the ‘Group of Death’, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984. The Germans face a tough task of reaching the knock-out round as only two
teams can qualify from the group.
Thomas Muller claimed that he can be most effective in the trequartista position and would love to play behind the striker. The attacker insisted that he loves to attack and the role of a second striker would definitely help him
and the side. The Bavarian has been playing on the right-wing since his debut for the national team and Mesut Ozil is playing in that role.
The World Cup Golden Boot winner in 2010 further added that he just wants two creative players around him and the things could be great for the national side. He insisted that he loves playing with Mesut Ozil as there is great
understanding with him. The player stated that Ozil’s is left footed and plays on the right which is very helpful for him sometimes.
“I see myself most effective behind a tip [main striker]. I've always said so and it still applies. Mesut [Ozil] often comes with his left foot over to the right and then I'll move to the inside. For my game, I just need one or
two combination players around me,” the Bayern Munich midfielder was quoted as saying in an interview.
Thomas Muller has far made 25 appearances for Die Mannschaft and has scored 10 goals in the process. The player ended World Cup 2010 as the joint top goalscorer in the tournament and was awarded the Golden Boot for his sensational
performance. He also captured the accolade for the ‘Best Young Player’ of the tournament and was also named in the year’s nominees for the Ballon d’Or award.
