Multan Tigers Upset ZTBL in National One Day Cup
The Multan Tigers defeated Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) by a massive margin of 166 runs in a Group B match of the Faysal Bank National One Day Cup 2010-11 Division One played Friday. This is a major upset because ZTBL is considered one of the best
teams in Pakistani domestic cricket and its squad is choke full of international stars. The Multan Tigers on the other hand have given sub-par performances all season. Their dismal play was especially noteworthy in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2010-11 Division
One, where the Tigers ended up at the bottom of the points table.
At the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground, Imran Nazir won the toss for ZTBL and elected to field first. This might have been the worst decision made during the match. The Tigers came out roaring and put on a magnificent batting display. A stunning opening
partnership between Zain Abbas and Imranullah Aslam helped the Tigers post a huge score of 325 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Chasing a huge target, ZTBL’s strong batting lineup was expected to come out swinging. This was not the case and the Tiger’s bowlers bundled out the ZTBL for a mere 159 runs by the 35th over of the innings. Imran Nazir and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 Yousaf were
the only two batsmen to have shown any resistance against the Multan Tigers bowlers.
Imran Nazir struck a blazing half century as he made 51 runs off just 33 balls with the help of nine fours and a six. Shahid Yousaf scored 59 runs off 87 balls. He struck six boundaries during his knock. Atif http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 scored 20 runs and was the only other

There were some very impressive performances in the match especially from Imranullah Aslam, Kashif Naved and Imran Nazir. Their superb all-round skills were on display and both players gave exceptional performances with the bat and ball. Zain Abbas from
Multan Tigers was named Player of the Match for his stunning knock upfront in the Multan Tigers. It was a complete team effort by the Multan Tigers and they will be hoping that the same momentum is carried forward in the tournament.
