Multan slump to ninth consecutive defeat in Quaid e Azam Trophy
Rawalpindi once again put up an impressive display in the ninth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, beating Multan by 52 runs at the Bahawal Stadium in Bahawalpur.
Rawalpindi has been quite impressive this current season, despite their young side being put in Division One alongside some of the toughest competitors in Pakistan’s domestic cricket. They have done exceedingly well and are currently fourth in the points
table with 45 points. On the other hand, Multan could have had one of their worst seasons in the Quaid e Azam Trophy, as they have lost all nine of their matches so far.
In bowling friendly conditions at Bahawalpur, Abdul Rauf won the toss for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Multan-c819 and elected to bowl first. The decision turned out to be a good one, as the visitors were bowled out for only 153 runs in 39.1 overs. Left-handed batsman Adnan Mufti scored

Test cricketer, Abdul Rauf took yet another five-wicket haul in First-class cricket, after conceding 50 runs off his 17 overs. His new ball partner, Tahir Maqsood ably supported him with four vital wickets.
Multan responded with a pathetic batting display, and the whole team was sent back to the pavilion for only 112 runs. However, Abdul Rauf showed some resistance and remained not out on 28 batting. Rawalpindi took a first innings lead of 41 runs as a result.

Chasing a reasonable last innings target in bowling friendly conditions, Multan was bowled out for 140 runs, even though right-handed middle order batsman Kashif Naveed played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 62 runs. He struck 12 beautiful fours in his innings.
However, he could not find enough support from the other end.
Sadaf Hussain picked up four wickets for the visitors, whereas Rizwan Akbar and Rashid Latif took three wickets each.
