Question:

Multi-Cultural?

I have a child care class, and we each have weeks where we plan a theme. This is my week. I have the idea of doing a multi-cultural theme, and one day bringing in foods from other countries. I'm having a hard time thinking of which foods to bring though! So if anyone could list a country with an easy to make food that relates to that country, it'd be much appreciated :)

  2. I think it's great that you want to share diverse cultures with your children.  Ask the parents of your children if they have a traditional cultural dish that they could share.  Try to do things other than the conventional spaghetti for Italy and Tacos for Mexico.  Eggs are a staple to the Mexican diet try to find an egg dish to serve... Also remember that Multiculturalism needs to be embraced all of the time, not just one week out of the year because it is your theme.

    I hope this helps:)

  3. A good book which i use with my preschool class (your kindergatens,grade000; 00; 0; basically your 3-6year old children). The book is called 'Kids in the Kitchen' by Sara Lewis. There is a new one out of hers called 'Baking in the kitchen' I think it is by Sara Lweis too.
