  1. u got to do 50hrs total with 25hrs on an IFR flt plan. And of course a check flight.

  2. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MULTI-ENGINE ADD-ON RATING: You only have to pass a knowledge test (oral) and flight test. No formal ground school is required and no minimum FAA specified flight time is required other than 3 hours dual instruction in preparation for any flight test. You must have at least a private license and most flight school have a minimum flight training requirement of 10-20 hours of dual instruction before they'll let you rent the airplane to take your flight test in. This is often just for insurance purposes. Besides that, most examiners would be rather skeptical of your competence if you had less training than that.

In addition, you need to be competent in multi-engine procedures for the rating sought, so if you want a private pilot multi-instrument rating, you have to be proficient with IFR approaches with simulated emergencies, including engine failures. If you want to add it to a commercial certificate, you have to perform to the more stringent commercial pilot standards of airspeed, altitude and heading control, and you will have to demonstrate some commercial maneuvers too, such as a chandelle or lazy eight.

Go buy yourself a copy of the multi engine practical  test standards.

  3. It's kinda funny, actually.  When you learn to fly a multi-engine aircraft, most of the time you will be flying around with one of them not running.  It's the asymmetrical thrust that will get you.  Good luck.

  4. Training and tests
