Multi citizenships?

I wanted to get citizenship for the U.K and Spain but am a U.S citizen. Is there limits to this? and would either of these countries have issues with me being a citizen over possible racist or prejiduce feelings of me being from the U.S?

  1. I'm pretty sure you can't be a citizen of more than 2 countries and most countries have very strict rules about residency in order to ask for citzenship and it takes a number of years. You can't just go ask for it like you're buying something at the grocery store.

  2. In order to get citizenship in either of these countries, you either need to have an ancestor who was born there if you were not, be married to a citizen for some time and meet a number of requirements (sometimes language, a child, residency inside the country) or live and work there on your own for a number of years and go through naturalization. This article has links to official websites to UK and Spain so you can get started.

As long as you meet the requirements, there is no racism. If you suspect there is, you can file a complain with Solvit with the EU.

Anti-Americanism is everywhere, but one should not be fearful about this entering official legal processes.

    Good luck :)
