Ok so just asking if there is any other moms out there with babies with crazy never ending colds and if u have used any children's ms med and just halved the dose for ur infant??? Reason why is I have a few Dr. friends who told me that I could give my 1 year old son, children's cold med to help with his runny nose/ sneezing and cough. Cunfortunatelynatly those out there that OVER DOSED there little babies ruined it for us non-idiotic parents and our poor sick babies that could havmedicinehe medicene. so I was just wondering if there is any and did it seem to work or not???

  1. I always gave my kids "tylenol cold and cough" and it worked.   As far as the dosage, give the same amount that you would if you were giving plain tylenol.

  2. My daughter is 11 months old now but when she was 9-10 months she was sick constantly.  I thought the same thing as you and halved the dose of the Advil brand of the infant cold meds.  Unfortunately it is really impossible to figure out the "correct" dosage as it is not meant for a baby.  I gave it to her a few times with no problems and then the last time it freaked her out.  She had the heebie-jeebies and just cried and squirmed in my lap all night long.  When I would put her down she would scream but she couldn't stay still in my lap, her eyes were closed but you could tell that she wasn't sleeping soundly and her little legs and feet kept twitching.  I get like this sometimes when I have too much caffeine or something so I knew what she was going through and I felt so bad for her.

I am not an idiotic parent at all and I only gave her less then half what was recommended but it just was too much for her little system.  I threw it away and took her to the doctor.  Turns out she had an ear infection and one set of antibiotics and she hasn't been sick since!
