  1. Try the Flight Schools who rent aircrafts. They are usually cheaper than Plane-rent guys!

  2. Hayward is about 160 miles, alot to drive , but if you can fly to there, might be worth it to you ....try California Airways, they have a Duchess,Seminol, and a I believe a turbo Seneca III

Give Kareem whom is the chief flight instructor/partner a call @

    510-882-8778

  3. Private piloting is not an inexpensive sport.  Almost any small airport will have a flying school.  Ask there.  You won't find any "deals" though.  The plane has to pass frequent inspections by the FAA, as well as required maintenance by certified mechanics.  Any airplane rental agent has to keep records of almost anything that happens in the air or on the ground. It has to have insurance for the place the planes, the records, the supplies and the tools are stored.  They pay incredible insurance premiums to cover themselves against almost any mishap imaginable.  In spite of all these expenses, they have to try to make a living renting vehicles that cost more than most houses.  Would you rent that at a "deal"?

Why would you want multi engine anyway?  Only thing I know that they can do better than a single engine is payload capacity.

  4. They've got more than one flight school on the field at FAT, so the multiengine rates should be pretty competitive. Of course just try to rent one solo. I don't think that anyone will let you do that. The insurance is way too prohibitive.

You might try Hanford Flight Center down in Hanford.

  5. california is a huge state .. where in california?
