Multiple car robbery, what can be done?

Question

Two Garmin gps's and the connectors for them, forty dollars cash, ipod stereo adapter was stolen out of two vehicles in my driveway.

schecter guitar in the back of the car was left by the road in the case.

our house has a very long driveway, you are unable to see the cars from the road. the two cars were unlocked. (stupid, i know)

i believe it is kids we know, but there is no proof.

what can be done about it?

I used to do that when i was younger and hit over 15-20 cars a night without being caught so i would say the best thing to do is put out a letter to the people that live near you and tell them to keep their cars locked and watch out for shady characters, thats what a couple did where i lived but it didnt help in their situation...it might help in yours though...if they're sloppy of course, good luck.

Well its all in who u know someone who has been there before is the culprit if u think hard enough u can solve this your self its someone u know  or someone u know that's been there with them?

Hope that they are stupid and try and sell them locally. I do hope that you had pictures and model numbers of the items stolen. Besides locking your car and using an alarm system, the only other thing I can think of is video cams in the car. You might try and 'bait' the next thieves by leaving something in the car and recording the crime, hoping that whoever stole the first items will return for more 'freebies'. This might lead the authorities to look in the right direction.

File a police report. Give the cops the names of the suspects.
