  1. +times+=+

    +times-=-

    -times+=-

    -times-=+

    -4x4=-16

  2. positive times negative = negative

    +4 times -4 = -16

  3. If you multiple a negative and a positive number, the answer will be negative. If you multiply 2 negative numbers, the answer is a positive number. Hope this helps. =)

  4. you multiply it like normal, but the answer will be negative.

as long as the number of negative signs being multiplied are odd, the answer will be negative. if the number of negative signs are positive, the answer is positive.

for example: -4 x 4 = -16    because there is an odd number of negative signs being multiplied.

however: -4 x -4 = 16       because there is an even number of negative signs being multiplied

  5. 4 times -4 = -16

a trick that helps me remember is...

    if a good thing happens to a good person thats good. (+) x (+) = (+)

    if a good thing happens to a bad person thats bad. (+) x (-) = (-)

    if a bad thing happens to a bad person thats good. (-) x (-) = (+)

    if a bad thing happens to a good person thats bad. (-) x (+) = (-)
