Question:

Multivitamins making me sick?

I am an extreme health nut and try to eat right, exercise and sleep a decent amount. I was finding myself sick though a lot or just not feeling well. They were always flu like symptoms and never nausea. I used to take a multivitamin thinking it would help. I was continuing to load up on the vitamins trying to boost my immune system. I did this dedicated until my health teacher said that multivitamins aren't really that necessary unless you are not healthy.

After I stopped taking vitamins my flu like symptoms stopped immediately. I recently tried to take a multivitamin again to see if what I thought was true and sure enough, within days I was getting the flu like symptoms.

Why is this happening?

Why are they flu like symptoms and not nausea?

Has anyone else had the same thing?

  1. im not sure why exactly it happens but i remember one of my teachers once telling us that taking vitamins on top of a healthy diet is not good because your body just gets too many vitamins and it causes a build up

im also a health nut :)

my advice to you would be to just stop the vitamins, but im sure you already knew that

    try researching this on google

  2. From one health nut to another,

I've not heard of similar problems but  it may be related to the kind of multi-vitamin pill. Do you know where and how it was manufactured, where the sources of ingredients came from, is it synthetic sources (petroleum based) or natural sources (how extracted).

I lways make sure to use whole food supplements as extracts in powder or liquid forms...now there's something totally new combining superfoods from both land and sea.
